SMC Wins Chrysalis Center’s Can Creation Contest

By | News

Chrysalis Center held its 3rd Annual “Donation Creation” Contest throughout the month of April. The competition this year involved the participation of 15 groups and a total donation of 2,998 nonperishable items to Freshplace, their wonderful food pantry.

A group at SMC created a soup can and bowl to represent the Empty Bowls event that the Center does each year.  We collected money from staff to buy 1162 items to build our sculpture!

A special shout-out goes to the building team for staying into the wee hours of the night to put it all together: Julia, Devan, Kara, Bryan, Mandy, Melissa, Gloria, Kiah, Shay, and Scott. S.!
